Crafting a 20ft Container into a Secure, Tailored Hazardous Material Storage.
In recent times, there’s been a noticeable uptrend in the demand for specifically designed COSHH stores. These Controlled of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) storage units are increasingly being tailored to different sizes and specifications, reflecting the varied needs of industries aiming to safely store hazardous materials.
The Build
We started this container conversion with a standard 20ft one-trip unit, the focus was on ensuring safety and functionality. To ensure adequate ventilation, two 300mm louvre vents were meticulously fabricated and installed. These vents play a crucial role in maintaining airflow and preventing the build-up of hazardous fumes.
To maximise storage efficiency, two 4-tiered rapid racking systems were set up within the container. These racks were designed to provide easy access to materials, ensuring that users could efficiently store and retrieve items without compromising on safety.
The Outcome
The result is a compact, yet highly efficient COSHH store that strikes the perfect balance between portability and safety. Such conversions not only guarantee a secure environment for storing hazardous materials like chemicals, solvents, and pesticides but they also come with the added benefit of being easily relocatable.
